My Story

Hello! My name is Mary Kay Isaacs, and I'm a believer in Jesus who has been healed and set free from shame, self-condemnation, fear, and addictions. I celebrate over 32 years of personal recovery and sobriety from bulimia, alcohol, and drugs.

Let’s face it, we all need healing from something. Life is hard and imperfect. The lies we believe, hurts we hang onto, and habits we struggle with, keep us from experiencing God's perfect peace and the abundant life He has for us. I believe that Jesus can take our pain, heal it, and use it for His purpose; that He is our ultimate source of healing and freedom.

Credentials and accomplishments:

  • Master's degree in counseling.

  • 30 plus years of experience in the recovery and counseling field.

  • Ministry leader in Celebrate Recovery for 22 years.

  • Currently both the Ministry leader for CR and Care Pastor at Oakdale Church.

My Mission

My passion is to walk along-side those who are struggling with anything that hinders them from fully experiencing God's love, joy and peace. To be used by God as a guide for others through life's storms. I want everyone to experience their purpose in Christ and the freedom He gives.

"He is the healer of the brokenhearted. He is the one who bandages their wounds."

Psalm 147:3-5

"Praise be to God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God".

2 Corinthians 1:3-4

"Mary Kay Isaacs, MS, is a well-spoken, knowledgeable, and effective teacher. She is not only an expert in the field and authentic, she is also highly engaging. Her creative, clear ability to share the material through multiple modalities is impressive, including power points, handouts, role plays, & demonstrations.  I regularly recommend clients to attend Mary Kay's speaking engagements, groups & special events."

Cynthia H.R. Delaney, LCSW-C

"It’s been over 20 years since I met Mary Kay with my first wife, who Mary Kay helped for over 8 years with support and counsel. She also directed the two of us to Celebrate Recovery for additional support, which not only helped my wife but set me free to begin my journey and calling to start a recovery ministry of my own, CrossRoads Freedom Center. Mary Kay has been an instrumental part of my life, always open and willing to help with anything we need at CrossRoads as a friend and counselor. Please call me if you have any questions about her love for helping others."

Joe Tarasuk, Executive Director

CrossRoads Freedom Center

"Mary Kay was my first small group leader at Celebrate Recovery.  She opened my eyes to a whole new way of examining my own actions and taking responsibility for my own choices and ways of behaving.  Her deep understanding of why we do what we do, especially when affected by addiction, combined with her practical and down to earth approach makes her one of the best counselors I’ve encountered.  Her understanding of family dynamics helped me understand the relationships between my sisters, brothers, and parents."
